Kathy Philips has been an Associate at BISM for almost 2 years.

Working as a Team Leader at our BSC Dover location, Kathy wears many hats in her position and plays an important role in the success of BISM’s Dover facility. Hailing from California with an extensive background in nursing, Kathy found herself ready for a career change in the Fall of 2020. Once finding a new home on the East Coast, Kathy joined the BISM team in November 2020.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
“I play many instruments such as the piano, drums, flute, and even the accordion.”

What TV series are you currently binging?
“I am currently watching the Netflix show Virgin River! It’s one of my favorite shows. It’s about a nurse from the big city who moves to the country and has to adjust to her new life. Hmm, sounds similar to my life. Maybe that’s why I love the show so much!”

What is your least favorite chore around the house?
“Cleaning up after dinner. You spend time making this delicious meal, eat and get comfortable, and then have to go clean the kitchen. Who wants to do that?”

What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?
“I love to do yard work and take day trips around the area.”

How would your friends describe you?
“They would describe me as funny and as someone who loves to make people laugh. They would also describe me as someone who is always willing to lend a helping hand.”

What is the most exciting part of your job?
I love interacting with the customers. I am sure my desire for helping others comes from my former career as a nurse. It’s ingrained in me at this point. My ability to help others is what excites me about my job.
